The Foundation's Jeffco Summer of Early Literacy Program was recognized by the Jeffco School Board of Directors at its first meeting in September for its successful expansion into 30 elementary schools at 12 sites in 2015.
North Metro Fire, Broomfield Police and City hosted its annual 9/11 memorial ceremony. Arvada High School graduate, Chris Faughnan, was killed at the World Trade Center that day. His brother, Mike, spoke at the ceremony and shared his brother's "Guide to the Universe: Love and enjoy your family. Use your good fortune to help others. Care for the environment. Show respect to all people. Mentor a child. Work hard at your job and always be honest. Lend an ear to someone who need to talk. Be knowledgeable about the world, form an opinion and act on it.
