Dear Jeffco community, partners and friends,
I am proud to announce that Courtney Jensen has started as the new Executive Director of the Jeffco Schools Foundation (JSF). As an experienced nonprofit leader, Courtney comes to JSF with 8 years of nonprofit experience. She has worked in various roles in the nonprofit realm, from operations, volunteer management and into fundraising before leading Family Promise of Greater Denver through the COVID-19 pandemic for the past 2.5 years.
“Courtney is eager to work closely with our Board and our district officials to ensure we are able to best serve our students. She has a broad skill set that the Foundation will be able to leverage to achieve its goals.” - Sandie Weathers, JSF Board Member.
As the Executive Director for Family Promise of Greater Denver, Courtney worked hard, supporting, and advocating for families in a housing crisis in Metro Denver. Courtney more than doubled the size and services the organization offered. As low-income families were hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, she led FPGD in modifying programming to provide increased safety and shelter to families in our community. During her tenure, Courtney was an active voice ensuring every child had a safe place to call home. She brings that same vigor and passion to Jeffco Schools Foundation.
“I am excited to have Courtney join us. Her nonprofit experience and her strategic approach to organizational growth will be the catalyst we need to tackle the educational challenges before us.” - Dayna Ashley-Oehm, JSF Board Treasurer
The Jeffco Schools Foundation is confident that Courtney will lead the Foundation into its next chapter of ensuring all Jeffco students thrive. She will be overseeing a new strategic plan to create a clear vision forward that is in line with the school district’s plan, Thrive 2025. Courtney will also be adding 2 staff members that will give the Foundation the ability to increase capacity and look to the future.
Please join me in welcoming Courtney to JSF. I know she is eager to meet with all of you.
Sincerely,
